42nd AF General Assembly Resolution Supporting the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB)

Justice, peace, and the equitable distribution of resources are prerequisites for sustainable social development. They are the building blocks of a better future in the Philippines. As such, the 129 member organisations of the Association of Foundations
(AF) resolved on 11 April 2014 to express full support for the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

Signed by the Peace Panels of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on 27 March 2014, AF believes the CAB represents a major step towards a just and lasting peace in Mindanao. It will help bring to an end nearly four decades of armed conflict, displacement, destruction, and disadvantage.

AF believes the CAB, and related efforts on the road to peace, will unleash the vast potential of the wonderfully diverse peoples that live in the conflict-affected areas of Mindanao. The nation as a whole will surely benefit from this positive development.  Committed to building foundations for a better future, AF commends the Peace Panels for this historic agreement and expresses its intent to help build a greater constituency for a just, lasting peace and inclusive, sustainable development in the Philippines.

Resolved by the Association of Foundations in the General Assembly held on
11 April 2014 in Makati City.
