About: Rush Hour Concert
MusiKayumanggi: A Century of Filipino Music w/ the Manila Symphony Orchestra
Schedule: July 4, 2022 | 6:30PM | Zoom
Join Ayala Museum and Manila Symphony Orchestra for a special online concert, ’MusiKayumanggi: A Century of Filipino Music’, on July 2, 2022!
’MusiKayumanggi: A Century of Filipino Music’ explores the richness and diversity of Philippine culture through music. The Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will perform beloved Filipino classics expressed in various orchestral and chamber arrangements, including hits such as ‘Lahing Kayumanggi’ by Lucio San Pedro, ‘Kalesa’ by Hernani Cuenco, and ‘Hahanapin Ko’ by Jose Mari Chan.
The history of a people is often immortalized in their music and for the Manila Symphony Orchestra, if there is one thing that unites our country – it’s music. This online concert features the Manila Symphony Orchestra performing within the Ayala Museum, including inside the museum’s galleries – marking the first time since 2019 that the Manila Symphony Orchestra will be performing inside the museum halls again.
’MusiKayumanggi: A Century of Filipino Music’ will take place via Zoom on July 2, 630PM. Tickets are at P1,200 for regular passes, and P960 for Ayala Museum Members. You can get your tickets at ayalamuseum.org/events/rhc-musikayumanggi

ABOUT MANILA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA:
Founded in 1926, the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is one of the finest orchestras in the Philippines and in Asia. Founded by Alexander Aglipay, the orchestra has played a major role in Philippine history, including acting as a symbol of resistance during the Second World War. MSO continues to nurture young talents and collaborates with like-minded institutions to advance the agenda of music, both as a source of entertainment and inspiration.
ABOUT RUSH HOUR CONCERTS:
Started in 2013, the Rush Hour series was initiated by the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) to reintroduce themselves to the general public. It also aims to provide the community with a brief but enriching respite and sanctuary from the traffic and throngs of commuters that define their daily lives.
