Passerelles numériques Philippines hosted its 10th Graduation Ceremonies with the theme “ATO NI: Advancing to Nurture and Inspire Digital Inclusion”, last June 26, 2022, Sunday at the Mezzo Hotel in Mabolo, Cebu City.
This was the biggest graduation ceremony in the history of PN Philippines with 126 graduates coming from 3 batches and the first physical graduation ceremony after three years since 2019 due to the hiatus caused by the pandemic. Certificates were conferred to the graduates for completing the organization’s 2.5-year program in Computer Technology major in Software Development.
Notable guests attended the ceremony. PNPh Board President Atty. Rufe Legorio welcomed everyone to the momentous event. The pre-recorded message from Mr. Thomas De La Loge, General Manager of Datawords, gave the graduates tips on how to advance in the industry. USC President Fr. Narciso Cellan’s ‘when life gives you lemons, make lemonade and plant the seeds’ speech gave a whole new perspective on life and its tribulations that inspired and motivated the graduates, in his keynote speech. Cheers and laughter burst out the venue when Mr. Amancio, parent of the Medal of Excellence awardee, gave humor to his message for his daughter and gratitude to the organization. Ms. Maita Valderrama, Site Director, and Ms. Jhoanna Remonte of TrustArc, Karla Basco, Web Production Director, Mari Joy Gargallano, and Vanessa Polancos of Datawords, also attended and witnessed the entirety of the joyous occasion. Sisters from The Sisters of Mary, cheered as students from their institution marched on stage. Ubisoft came (in spirit) bearing gifts for the graduates.
This graduation signifies achievements amid challenges, a fitting tribute to their parents’ struggles, and extending honor to the teachings of their mentors and teachers. Datawords and Trustarc, as golden sponsors of the event, have been partners of the organization and have supported the scholars’ training. They have been instrumental to the success of the event.
