The Association of Foundations (AF) held an online learning session on “Cultivating NGO Talents” last 11 October 2023. Over 300 participants joined the session, mostly from the NGO sector. During the session, Joji Abot-Camelon, Program Manager of the Leaders Empowered and Dedicated to Serve Program (LEAD to Serve) discussed the key elements and importance of talent management and how competencies can improve talent management processes in NGOs. LEAD to Serve Project Officer Milet Aquino then elaborated on how the competency framework can facilitate learning and development of NGO talents by presenting the key features of the LEAD to Serve Course. The Philippine NGO Leadership Competencies Framework, developed for and by the NGO leaders, is the anchor of the LEAD to Serve Course.
The LEAD to Serve Course Batch 5 is now open. Two (2) partial scholarships are now offered by AF to its members who are resource-constrained but are keen to improve their talent’s competencies and organizational systems. These enhancements can make NGOs better prepared for the leadership transition.
