AF LEAD to Serve Batch 5 begins course with in-person session

Nineteen NGO leaders started their LEAD to Serve Course Batch 5 journey by reflecting on their personal leadership journeys during the in-person Leading Self Module held at the First Pacific Leadership Academy, Antipolo City last May 7-10, 2024.

Representatives from community-based organizations Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Pamilyang Pantawid (SNPP) and Aksyon sa Kahandaan sa Kalamidad at Klima (AKKMA) shared their on-the-ground experiences of leading communities and creating positive change with support from NGO initiatives. Ka Ping Fampulme of AKKMA encouraged the Batch to cultivate a culture of helping (kultura ng pagtutulungan) with the communities they are working with.

Six mentors also joined Batch 5 for the “Sunset Session” on May 9, where they engaged the participants in a casual conversation about purpose, commitment, and dedication to a life of service. Mentoring is one of the forms of capacity building provided through the LEAD to Serve Course.

Batch 5 will continue their 10-month leadership development journey through online synchronous and asynchronous sessions focusing on relational and managerial competencies of the Philippine NGO leadership competencies framework.
