The Association of Foundations (AF), represented by Executive Director Oman Jiao, joined 26 other organizations, among them AF members, in a pledge of commitment ceremony for new members of the Stakeholders’ Chamber on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ceremony was part of the special meeting convened by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) with both pioneer and new members held on August 7, 2023 at the PCCI BA Securities Hall in Taguig City.
NEDA, led by the Head of the SDG Secretariat, OIC-Director Pure Sapaen, discussed the terms of reference of the Stakeholders’ Chamber and presented the three-year roadmap from 2023 to 2025 to strengthen collaboration and convergence between government and non-government actors in the national implementation and acceleration of progress in the SDGs. To facilitate the participation of members in the commitment of the Stakeholders’ Chamber, technical working groups on Social, Economic, Environment, and Peace, Security and Governance were formed during the meeting. The Stakeholders’ Chamber is currently chaired by Donald James Gawe of Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency, with Rebecca Malay of Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement as co-chairperson.
