AF, TIPF HOLD PROPOSAL WRITING WORKSHOP

The Association of Foundations (AF), in partnership with TELUS International Philippines Foundation, Inc. (TIPF), conducted the workshop series “Write it Right” which aims to help NGOs in drafting project briefs that will effectively convey its relevance and impact and get them closer to clinching funding support from prospective donors. In the first session held on November 16, Ms. Boots Mendoza discussed Fundraising for Social Good and Fundraising Trends. In the second session held on November 23, Ms. Pia Ortiz-Luis discussed the project cycle (PDIMME) vis-à-vis developing a project proposal. TIPF’s Phoebe Carrera also discussed their funding guidelines. The current funding cycle will close on February 10, 2023. Over 500 individuals have joined the virtual learning sessions.

LEAD TO SERVE HOLDS FACE-TO-FACE SESSION.

The LEAD to Serve Batch 3 came together on Oct 20-21, 2022 at Joy Nostalg for the first in-person session since the start of the pandemic. The group demonstrated their communication competency through their impressive individual presentations and assessments of another person’s presentation. They also had fun going through negotiation simulations as part of the introductory activities under the Consensus Building Module. The current cohort is scheduled to end its LEAD to Serve Course in March 2023 covering the 10 leadership competencies of the Philippine NGO Leadership Competencies Framework.

CSO ACADEMY BEGINS COURSE FOR 1ST BATCH OF LEADERS

The CSO Academy in South Cotabato has officially started the training program for its first batch of 20 scholars on November 14, 2022. The first module, with a focus on Leading Self and Strategic Management, was held from November 14 to 17 and was facilitated by Joji Abot-Camelon and Pia Ortiz-Luis of the Association of Foundations (AF). Patterned after AF’s LEAD to Serve Course, participants revisited and reflected on their core values, motivations and life’s purpose, toward continuously improving as leaders.
