CEAP and COCOPEA pledge support to enhance high-quality education

As the year 2024 began, the educational landscape of the Philippines witnessed a proactive collaboration between key stakeholders. The Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) engaged in extensive consultations and discussions with the Department of Education (DepEd) regarding pertinent issues concerning private education.

This collaboration was notably highlighted during the recently concluded Second Basic Education Report on January 25 and DepEd’s First Quarterly Consultation Meeting with Private Educational Associations on January 16.

Amidst these interactions, Fr. Albert N. Delvo, President of CEAP and Chairperson of COCOPEA, reaffirmed the commitment of the private education sector towards advancing inclusive and high-quality education.

Furthermore, COCOPEA, through CEAP, has also been actively involved in legislative endeavors to foster cooperation between public and private educational institutions. A significant focus of these engagements has been expanding the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) program.

These efforts underscore a concerted initiative by private educational associations to contribute positively to the educational landscape, emphasizing collaboration with the government and legislative bodies to enhance the quality and accessibility of education across the Philippines.
