Del Monte Foundation, in its continuing efforts to provide assistance on health-related initiatives, joined various local celebrations by conducting medical and dental missions.
On October 29, 2022 during the 19th Araw ng CADT celebration, together with MM Cares and Valencia City Medical Volunteers, DMFI provided free consultation and medicines to 292 Talaandig – Kalatungan indigenous peoples, or “lumads” of MILALITTRA in Lirongan, Talakag, Bukidnon.
CADT or Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title was awarded to the indigenous peoples’ group of MILALITTRA that encompasses four barangays (Miarayon, Lapok, Lirongan and San Miguel) in the municipality of Talakag.
And on November 9, during the Adlaw Ta Kitanglad celebration in Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, DMFI, together with the various Rural Health Units from the 8 municipalities & cities that surround Mt. Kitanglad, the Provincial Health Office, & the Armed Forces of the Philippines, provided free consultation and medicines to 272 individuals and medical services to 65 patients.
Adlaw Ta Kitanglad is a yearly celebration since 1996 by the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) in recognition of the valuable contribution of the indigenous communities and the Kitanglad Guard Volunteers (KGV) in the Mt. Kitanglad Range Natural Park, considered an ASEAN heritage park.
