JAAF AND NOVOTEL DO TURNOVER OF SOAP TO QC SHOOLS.

J. Amado Araneta Foundation led the donation of hand soap to public schools in Quezon City for Clean Hands Project.  In time for the Global Handwashing Celebration, JAAF, with Novotel Manila Araneta City, visited the schools and reiterated the need to wash hands with soap constantly.

The six beneficiary schools included Cubao Elementary School, 15th Avenue Elementary School, Camarilla Elementary School, Juan Sumulong High School, Pura Kalaw Elementary School, and Jose P. Laurel Sir High School.  The donation and handwashing drive came to fruition through the School Principals’ leadership.

Clean Hands Project in a JAAF-led initiative, in partnership with Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City Small Business Development and Promotion Office (QC-SBCDPO), and the Office of Mayor – Quezon City Government.  Clean Hands transforms waste soap into new bar soap.  The Gawad Kalinga PWD community in Munting Pamayanan was trained in soap-making.  They supplied JAAF with bar soaps for donation to public schools’ handwashing stations.

Clean Hand Project aims to enable hygiene by providing access to soap while at the same time supporting local community livelihood through repurposing waste materials. It also helps the Novotel Manila Araneta City reduce its waste.
