LEAD to Serve Batch 4 caps off year-long course

Fifteen (15) participants of the LEAD to Serve Course Batch 4 concluded their year-long journey with an online Recognition Program on April 5, 2024 via Zoom. The event, co-organized by graduates of the LEAD to Serve Course Batch 3, was a moment of celebration and gratitude. Resource persons and mentors who played a vital role in the participants’ learning journey were also recognized for their invaluable contributions.

The guest speaker was Ms. Lou Sabrina Ongkiko, a multi-awarded public school educator at Culiat Elementary School. Teacher Sab graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University, earned her Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (Singapore), and her Master of Education from the University of Melbourne. She was a Jesuit Volunteer and a recipient of recognitions and awards including  the Many Faces of the Teacher (2014), 15 Women of 2015 (Manila Bulletin), YoLO (Youth Leading Others) Award (National Youth Commission), 2016 Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS), Metrobank Foundation’s Outstanding Filipinos in 2021, and 2022 Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) of the Philippines for her work in education.

In her inspirational message, she shared how she learned and came to understand important leadership qualities from her own students. She emphasized the importance of being leaders that uplift others as she encouraged the LEAD to Serve Batch 4 graduates to use their role in the NGO sector to spread love to marginalized sectors and communities.
