NVC receives Galing Pook Citizenship Award

The Galing Pook Citizenship Award recognizes and promotes the initiatives of individuals and civil society organizations that bring about positive change in the midst of continuing controversies in the government, socioeconomic difficulties, and the developmental challenges brought about by the adverse effects of climate change. NVC Foundation is honored to have been chosen along with four other non-government organizations for this award. The awarding ceremony took place on October 12, 2023 in Pasay City. During the impromptu speech that NVC President Ms. Millie L. Kilayko was asked to give on behalf of the private sector awardees, she expressed her gratitude that Galing Pook had chosen to recognize the power of ordinary persons. She went on to say that there is true and strong power when public and private sectors work together in nation building. The conferring of this award, a month shy of a year after NVC was given the Parangal Lingkod Sambayanan (Community Service Award) during the 2022 Ateneo University Traditional Awards, is proof that society recognizes the importance of individual efforts in working towards a better Philippines.
