XSF facilitates Tumindok Processing Facility Turnover

Xavier Science Foundation, Inc. in partnership with the Philippine-Italy Debt for Development Swap Program (PIDDS) through the Department of Finance officially handed over the newly constructed processing facility for the Indigenous Peoples Organization in Barangay Lourdes, Valencia City in Bukidnon on November 13, 2022.

The Tumindok Association, Inc. is one of the partner IP community to receive a processing facility under the Enhancing Communities Capacity for Inclusive Ecosystem Management and Rural Economic Sustainability (ECO-CARES).

The processing facility was built to support Tumindok’s women group in their social enterprise initiative where peanut cookies and peanut butter as well as coffee are their main products.

The facility is an important aspect of their enterprise activity allowing a better and fit-for-purpose space in developing new products to serve as their income-generating and livelihood opportunity.

The turnover ceremony was also a joint celebration of the IP community for their Tribal Hall Anniversary since it was constructed three (3) years ago.

The Tribal Hall or locally known as Turugan was constructed with support from the Forest Foundation Philippines as part of the capacity-building initiative of the project EcoSEED 2.
