ZEP2030 reconvenes Lanao stakeholders

The Zero Extreme Poverty 2030 Movement, led by Co-Chair Senen Bacani, met on August 23, 2023 with a core group of local stakeholders to formalize and move forward with the formation of the ZEP2030 Lanao del Sur Local Convergence. The local office of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) and ECOWEB, Inc. committed to act as Co-Convenors of the local convergence. The group took stock of the preliminary discussions held prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged impacts of the siege of Marawi, especially on internally displaced persons (IDPs). They initially agreed to pilot ZEP2030 in Marawi City and other municipalities in Lanao del Sur and will consider expanding to Lanao del Norte in due course. The meeting was also attended by representatives from ICESDev, Lanao Youth Council, Lombay Ka Marawi, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, and the ZEP2030 Secretariat from the Philippine Business for Social Progress and the Association of Foundations.
